Early Life and Education: Born in Tampa, Florida, to Constantine and Kaliope Lulias, His Eminence was active in the church from his youth alongside his brother, John (a renowned teacher and scholar of Greek Folk Dance).

His extensive academic background includes:

• University of Florida: Bachelor of Arts with Honors (1976).

• Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology: Master of Divinity with Honors (1980).

• University of Thessaloniki: Graduate studies (1980–1982) as a Rotary International Graduate Scholar and Ministry of the Exterior Scholar.

• St. Petersburg Theological Seminary (Russia): Studied the Russian language (1992–1993).

Ecclesiastical Service and Ministry

Early Priesthood in the USA Following his ordination, Archbishop Nikitas served in several capacities within the United States:

• Associate Pastor: Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Merrillville, Indiana).

• Chancellor: Greek Orthodox Diocese of Chicago, Illinois (1987).

• Parish Priest: Saint Demetrios (Chicago).

• Lecturer: Taught Orthodox Theology at Loyola University, Chicago.

Metropolitan of Hong Kong and Southeast Asia (1996–2007) Elected by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, he served as the Metropolitan of Hong Kong and Southeast Asia from December 1996 to August 2007. During this time, he also lectured on Orthodox Theology and Liturgy at the Holy Spirit Catholic Seminary in Hong Kong.

Metropolitan of Dardanelles & PAOI Director (2007–2019) Upon his return to the US, he was named Metropolitan of the Dardanelles and a Hierarch of the Ecumenical Throne. He served as the Director of the Patriarch Athenagoras Orthodox Institute (PAOI) in Berkeley, California, where he also lectured on Orthodox Theology.

Service to the Mother Church Archbishop Nikitas holds several key leadership positions for the Ecumenical Patriarchate:

• Coordinator: Patriarchal Task Force on Human Trafficking and Modern-day Slavery.

• Chairman: Committee on Youth for the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

• Co-Chair: Elijah Inter-Faith Foundation.

Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain His Eminence was elected Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain on 12 June 2019.

• Enthronement: Held at the Cathedral of Divine Wisdom (Bayswater) on 27 July 2019.

• First Visit to Our Church: This took place on Great and Holy Monday, 2023 .
