Donations

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

We can now accept contactless card donations incl. Google and Apple pay via a card reader. The machine will be placed on the table by the entrance. If you would like to donate or pay for candles or other items, please select the sum you want to pay. The reader has four pre-set sums you can select set at £2, £5, £10 and £20. If you would like to donate or pay a different sum, press the symbol at the bottom and you can then type your desired donation. Once you have selected the sum, use a card, phone or watch to pay and the machine will beep and indicate that the transfer was successful. The money will be deposited into our Church Account within 1-2 days.

We also welcome regular donations by standing order, and it would be great if we could gradually increase the number of donations we receive, as this will help us plan how to improve our church and enhance its community life. Any monthly standing order is welcome, and you can cancel it at any time through your bank. No strings attached!

The account details for donations and to set up a standing order are as follows:

St Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Church, Newcastle upon Tyne

Sort Code        20-59-59

Account No     30573469

IMPORTANT NOTICE: As we are now a charity, we can claim money back from the HMRC. If you have donated to the church in the past 4 years, are still making donations, or are planning to make any donations in the future, please complete a Gift Aid form. This will enable our Church to reclaim 25% of each donation. You can fill in the Gift Aid declaration online further down this page, or download a paper form there.

Many thanks for all your help and please keep our parish in your prayers.

Gift Aid declaration

If you pay UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax, Gift Aid lets our church claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 you give, at no cost to you. Fill in this form once and it covers your donations from the past four years and any you make in the future.

Prefer paper? Download the form as a PDF or Word file, fill it in, and hand it to Fr Symeon or email it to queries@stanthonythegreat.org.uk.

Please tell us if you want to cancel this declaration, change your name or home address, or no longer pay enough tax on your income and/or capital gains.

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

We use these details only to claim Gift Aid from HMRC and keep them as HMRC requires. See our privacy notice.
