Our Deepest Gratitude
First and foremost, we offer our sincere gratitude and filial love to his Eminence, our Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and to his Grace, our Bishop Raphael of Ilion for their continued spiritual guidance and blessing.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Father Andreas Amirhom, who faithfully and lovingly looked after this parish for 30+ years until his retirement in 2025. He laid a profound foundation for our community and remains an ever-cherished and always welcome guest among us. We are also deeply grateful to the Archdiocese for generously granting us permission to use and upload their enriching Sunday bulletins to this website.
We would like to express our profound gratitude to the Anglican congregation of St John the Baptist Church in the centre of Newcastle. For more than ten years, they have graciously allowed us to use their wonderful historic church as our spiritual home. A very special thank you goes to Judith Littlewood and Carol Walton, who have helped us immensely and shown us extraordinary generosity, warmth, and open-hearted hospitality.
We also give thanks for our own community: the founders of our church, our dedicated parishioners, the converts who have found a home here, our students, our beautiful choir, and every single person whose time, effort, and love keeps this church running.
About This Website
When designing this website, we drew inspiration from several beautiful parish sites, most notably St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Cathedralin London. Their digital presence provided a wonderful guiding light for our own layout and structure.
The theological and educational texts on this site were deeply informed by the classic work of Father Thomas Hopko, Dean of St Vladimir’s Seminary, USA on The Orthodox Faith, as well as inspiring material from St Andrew’s Cathedral. To make this rich information as accessible as possible to our visitors, we utilised the AI tool Gemini to condense the texts into clear bullet points, proofread the content, and compare it against the originals before we carefully edited and published the final versions.
We would also like to acknowledge Wikipedia and Icon Details, from which we sourced many of the beautiful icons displayed on these pages. We have made every effort to respect intellectual property and ensure we do not infringe on any copyrights.
A Request for Forgiveness and Prayers
Finally, we humbly ask for your forgiveness for any mistakes, oversights, or errors we may have made in the website’s design or text. We warmly welcome your feedback and suggestions on how we can improve; please feel free to reach out to us via our Contact Us page.
Above all, we ask for your prayers—that our parish may continue to grow in faith, in strength, and most importantly, in love to our LORD and HIS creation.
With gratitude,
Fr Symeon, the Church trustees and the whole parish
